20 Easy Weight Loss Tips

1.    Exercise

Everyone knows one of the primary keys to losing weight is exercising, most people just lack the resolve to do it.

2.    Walk instead of drive

This is simple and the added benefits are that you spend less money on gas, pollute the environment less and start to actually experience your commute instead of simply driving through it.

3.    Eat more protein and fewer carbohydrates

Many new diet systems focus on diets high in proteins, like meat, eggs, milk, cheese and yogurt and low on carbs like bread, pasta and rice. This seems to work, because fewer calories are converted into stored fat with this method.

4.    Drink more water

This is so good for you in so many ways! It will help you excrete your poisons, enhance your energy and brain function, while helping your body run more efficiently, which is likely to enhance your metabolism, thereby burning fat faster.

Many of us don’t get enough water and since our bodies consist of more than half water, we’re bound to miss it.

5.    Eat smaller meals more frequently

They used to say that everyone should eat three square meals a day. These were thought to be large meals, because they would generally consist of the wide variety needed to maintain a healthy diet.

Now, 5 to 7 small meals are said to be healthier, because it allows your body to burn the calories it’s acquiring in small amounts, before it can convert them to fat and store them.

6.    Avoid high calorie drinks

Many people think Gatorade and Powerade are healthy and that’s both true and false. It is good to get plenty of fluids, but sports drinks, just like sodas, beer and even juices, frequently contain a lot of calories. A couple high calorie drinks can have the calorie equivalent of eating an entire sandwich. Be careful!

Yes natural juices can help you hydrate and add vitamins and minerals, but such juices are often supplemented with sugar and/or corn syrup, which can add a wallop of unnecessary calories.

Many people think they’re somehow beating the system with such substitutes as NutraSweet and Splenda, but such substitutes sometimes prove to have highly detrimental side effects years later, as there have already been numerous reports that Aspartame causes cancer. Hmm. Maybe it’s better to lose weight the old fashioned way.

7.    Play sports

Not a fan of exercise? Don’t fret. You’re in a big boat filled with plenty of people. Try finding a sport you enjoy. The benefit is that it’s often more social and sometimes you barely recognize that you’re getting a workout, because you’re so focused on the game.

8.    Walk the dog

Yes. This really is exercise! Walking is actually one of the best exercises you can do, because it’s a very low-impact workout for your body. Dogs need to go out. You’re meeting two needs at the same time.

Now, many of you will say, “well, I can’t do that, I don’t have a dog,” but chances are you know someone who does and they would love for you to take their dog for a walk. Borrow a dog today!
And guys, if you need any added incentive, walking a dog, is a great way to meet women.

9.    Have more sex

It’s been said that sex is not a cardiovascular workout. It’s unclear how the scientists who arrived at this conclusion are doing it, but we choose to believe that when it’s done correctly, sex can be quite the cardio-thumper after all.  And the additional benefits of heart pounding sex go without saying.

10.    Eat more fruits and vegetables and less fat and sugar

Eat more of the good stuff and less of the bad stuff. It’s simple enough. Fruits and vegetables provide a lot of vitamins and minerals, along with roughage, which is good for the digestive track, while not yielding a lot of caloric contributors to fat.

Fat, starch and sugar, on the other hand, are more likely to go to your stomach, or your hips.

11.    Watch a movie while you exercise

So you’re too lazy to exercise? No problem! Watch a movie instead… just do it on a stationary bike, while you’re moving your legs. The next thing you know, you will have had a great time watching a fabulous movie, while your legs did your workout for you and you hardly even noticed.

12.    Listen to music while you exercise

You don’t want to exercise, listen to music instead…just do it with headphones while you’re walking, jogging, rollerblading or practicing yoga. The right music can pump you up and give you motivating energy, while making the time go faster.

13.    Swim

Swimming is arguably the best exercise known to man. It can be a cardio workout, which strengthens the lungs, while exercising virtually all the muscles in the body and it’s a no-impact workout. It doesn’t get much better than that!

14.    Snack on fruits and vegetables

Cookies, potato chips, pies and cakes are great, but they’re not going to help you stay thin.

Grapes, bananas, oranges, mango, carrot sticks, celery sticks and cherry tomatoes, among others, can be delicious high vitamin and mineral snacks which are actually good for you and don’t pack on the pounds.

15.    Ride a bicycle

Low impact exercise…No gas expenses…No pollution…hmm.

16.    Take stairs instead of elevators

Don’t be lazy. The need to get from Point A to Point B can be a great motivator to get a little extra exercise and you might be amazed at how many calories you can burn by going up and down one flight of steps 10 times a day. Ladies, it’ll also help tone those legs!

17.    Mow lawns with a push mower

It’s cheaper, better for the environment and helps you stay slim and healthy. Riding mowers are fun, but if you want to get in shape, get down and do the dirty work. Mowing the lawn can kill two birds with one stone. You get exercise, while doing some necessary yard work and it can be extremely satisfying to watch those strips of lawn get sheered away.

18.    Dance

Many people love to dance, but most of them aren’t thinking of it as exercise. Why not? Dancing can be great exercise, so why not make an extra effort to get out there and do it?

Visit bars and nightclubs and consider taking dance classes.

Most women already love dancing and know the benefits of how it can make you feel. Most men do not, but for those men who enjoy women, they should keep in mind that dancing is a great way to become desirable to women.

19.    Practice Yoga

It’s easy on your joints and can actually be a challenging cardio workout, even as it helps you relax.

20.    Use oil & vinegar, lime and/or spicy peppers for seasonings

Who needs all those super-fatty, high cholesterol sauces and salad dressings? And salt tastes great, but it makes you retain water and it can be bad for your blood pressure. There are several natural foods, which taste great and can add a little zing to your meal, without adding a zap to your calories.

I'm on twenty's and I think that do exercise is very, very important in your everyday, even thought you have lose those extra kilos, keep doing it, and water is always good. And please write something about how to gain weight in a healthy way. Thanks

I think all the options are very interesting, but for me the more effective is the first one. When you do some exercise you can be sure that you are going to lose weight, but is so important to be continuous, because if you stop or leave the exercise is very probably that then your are going to win more weight than when you start.
